School Rules

At our school there are clear expectations for behaviour and a consistent approach across the whole school. There is a detailed Behaviour Policy on our Information and Policies page which parents can download for additional information. There is also a summary leaflet that outlines the main procedures at a glance.

There are a few simple school rules for behaviour in school. Children are expected to show consideration for other persons and their property and are also encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility leading to self-discipline in a firm but friendly atmosphere. Our aim is that the children should develop positive attitudes towards themselves and towards others.

Sanctions such as ‘time out’ in another class, missing part of playtime or much-enjoyed activity may occasionally be imposed. If there are concerns over your child’s behaviour the class teacher will make an appointment to speak to you and a plan will be drawn up together to help resolve any issues.

Rewards include praise, sticker awards, earning additional time at favourite activities, certificates and being sent to another teacher or the Headteacher for praise and encouragement. These rewards are brought home so that you can celebrate your child’s successes with them. Good behaviour, effort and attitude is recognised by ERIC, our school mascot who awards  stickers for children showing respect to others.
